General

Assessment for the IEA Diploma in Applied ICT is based entirely on a major project. In the past, students have been discouraged from doing anything particularly creative but instead have tended to opt for projects that fitted the mark schemes.

The method of assessment for the IEA Diploma in Applied ICT is quite different and encourages students to be creative, take risks and have fun.

Guidelines

Students:

  • have a free choice in what project they do
  • should demonstrate what they can do in whatever way they choose
  • may work individually or with other students
  • should carry out a project for an identifiable client
  • must carry out a project for an identifiable client to achieve highest levels
  • will be rewarded for being creative
  • must submit projects in electronic form using approved file types
  • must assess their own work using the appropriate form before submitting it
